Brad Evans has practised law in Ottawa and Orléans since he was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1980.
Born and raised in Cumberland, Ontario, Mr. Evans completed two years of a B.Com. (Hons.) course at the University of Ottawa before deciding to pursue a career in law.
His law practice focuses on wills and powers of attorney, estates, residential and commercial real estate, leases, and corporate/commercial law. He has successfully acted as an arbitrator involving commercial and estate-related disputes. He has also developed expertise in the law relating to churches and other not-for-profit associations.
Mr. Evans is a member of the Carleton County Law Association. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Ottawa, a local council of professionals who meet monthly to discuss matters pertaining to estates, estate planning, wills, and powers of attorney He has taught students-at-law at the Bar Admission Course. He regularly gives presentations to the general public on matters relating to Wills, Powers of Attorney, estate planning, and real estate.
Like other members of Dust Evans, he is an active member of the community. He was member of the Union Mission's Board of Directors for more than 18 years, serving as President for two years. He continues to be a voting member of this venerable shelter for the homeless in Ottawa. He currently sits on the Board, as Vice-President, of Arts Ottawa East, a local arts council. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Heart of Orleans Business Improvement Association. In the winter he ties up his skates, playing old timers' hockey (Queenswood Heights Mens Hockey), and enjoys cross-country skiing. In the summer he enjoys sailing, as well as playing tennis as a member of the Queenswood Heights/Fallingbrook Tennis Club. At home, he enjoys following the endeavours of his two teenagers.
